PHD Comics: The Out-Of-Office Reply

Written by Brandon Klein | Mar 5, 2013 2:24:07 AM

We've all experienced it: you send an important email, expecting to wait at least hours for a reply, but immediately get a response. Uh-oh. It's the out-of-office reply, a complex and coded message which essentially says "screw you".

Jorge Cham's annotated email rams that point home. My personal favorite is the mention of the sender being unable to reply to messages—which just makes me think of the recipient sat next to a pool, cocktail in one hand, iPhone in the other, laughing heartily as they read and quickly ignore my messages. Thanks, email. [PHD Comics]
